My girlfriend is quite an obsessive character sometimes. When she finds something she likes she usually talks about it/copies it/wears it to death. She can also be quite faddy, so a short sharp obsession followed by ‘it’ being dropped…
She does also have long-standing obsessions. There is one which I find particularly random and funny and I witness her little oddities often with this…
. . . she will spot one a mile off . . .
. . . she will spot one in a crowd and zoom in with hawk eyes . . .
. . . nothing will move her gaze, she’s transfixed like a bird to prey . . .
. . . i can see her zone out of what I’m saying if we’re walking down a street and her eyes land on one . . .
. . . marrakech and its million souks were a particular melting pot for her . . .
. . . she has many of these in all different shapes / types / sizes . . .
. . . the obsession is only limited to one designer piece so far, otherwise it would be getting very expensive . . .
. . . she strokes them in shops . . .
. . . she strokes other people’s . . .
. . . she seems to really like the old and battered ones . . .
. . . she likes mens and women’s ones . . .
The obsession? what is it?
It’s not that weird, it’s not that wonderful, but she loves it, that’s all that matters, and that’s all that’s funny.
My girlfriend loves, absolutely 100% loves, a good old bit of brown leather in the form of a bag. Satchel, handbag, suitcase, holdall… she’s happy. Call it a bag, make it in brown leather… and she’ll spot it and want it.
Strange girl . . .
I thought you were going to say dog. What is she doing stroking peoples bags? haha.
